Glad to see DokBrowne validates my opinion of this remarkable little flick - because, honestly, it's the most fun you're liable to have in front of the tv in some time. Seriously, this movie is just alive, pure candy-coated kick-ass fun, all weed jokes and genial satire, deeply and profoundly catchy songs, and, underneath it all, pretty genuinely sweet, particularly when it comes to the love story at its core. Just an exceptionally vibrant and hilarious and all-around lovable film; and, speaking of lovable, you don't know the meaning of the word until you've witnessed Kristen Bell in this part. Seriously, you'll fall in love, no questions asked. If you're looking to shake that pesky crush, run the other way.

On the other hand, if you like to enjoy yourself and laugh, stick around. "Reefer Madness" is satisfying by every measure, and fucking criminally underseen.

It's really too bad this movie didn't get a theatrical release, or at least more hype, because it is insatiably delightful in every way. It's like the 1986 "Little Shop of Horrors" with pot instead of a venus fly trap. I had no idea it would be this fun, though - the songs are wonderfully-written and in the best tradition of memorable, toe-tapping musical sequences. The choreography is a joy, the performers are perfectly exaggerated (and Kristen Bell is quite the looker; makes me further regret never watching "Veronica Mars"), and the art direction is surprisingly sumptous, bursting with color, detail, and that affectionate fakeness of the sets that the best musicals thrive on. It's hard to believe such a thoroughly entertaining, witty, and exultant two hours could be spun from the one-note, ultra-serious 20-minute film strip from 1936, which makes this even more impressive.

I just can't properly describe the elation of watching this. Find it in video stores before it is removed from the new release section and disappears into obscurity. It's more fun than any other movie I've seen this year
