Completely inexplicable anthology series by four independent darlings that tries to recreate the New Wave anthology films (Le Plus Vieux Métier du Monde, Les Sept Pechés Capitaux, RoGoPaG) and fails miserably. Tim Roth is Ted the Bellhop, who is left alone to tend his hotel on New Year's Eve. In Allison Anders' awful segment, he falls in with a coven of witches (including Madonna, Ione Skye, Lili Taylor and Valeria Golino) in to ressurect their sister who was turned into a rock. Then, in Alexandre Rockwell's even WORSE segment, he has a confrontation with a man (David Proval) who has his girlfriend (Jennifer Beals) tied up to a chair. Things pick up in Robert Rodriguez's frankly funny segment in which he babysits Antonio Banderas' bratty children. Quentin Tarantino's segment, a riff on an old episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents starring Tarantino, Bruce Willis (uncredited) and Paul Calderon, isn't too bad but still ranks as the worst thing Tarantino ever did. Rodriguez's segment is really the only bright spot in this crappy film, which also features the worst Tim Roth performance ever.

robert rodriguez : over the top, and wonderful ..
quentin tarantino : disappointing, but still prety good .. alexandre rockwell : a nice twist on a dream sequence in "in the soup" .. allison anders : well, her other film "mi vida loca" was pretty cool ..

Averaging the 4 segments:
{(6 + 8 + 8.5 + 9.5) / 4 }

Unfortunately each of the four segments differ widely in quality. But they are all fairly individual and neat to watch as Tim Roth does a great job as usual.

The only good scene was the Very very end.

The witches and the kids were cool. Don't bother with the last room though

Disappointment but Rodriquez saves the day.

1. Room: Well it doesn´t suck but it ain't good either
2. Room: Better than the first one but still there's something missing
3. Room: GREAT!!!
4. Room: Well Quentin is Quentin but still a little dissapointment.

I think 4 rooms is the 1st equal in multi story/scenario films. "Go" is its equal. The stories are unique and Tim Roth is very funny. Cringing is more common than laughing however! Dont bother with Acid House etc... just rent this one - it kicks.
