It was hard for me to make a connection with this film - though this may be deliberate on the end of the director. The film seems to be comprised of many disjointed scenes - reminiscent of going through the three years of Wesley Snipe's character stoned. One reason perhaps to watch the film would be to watch Robert Downey Jr.'s great performance depicting the latter stages of full blown AIDS and the downwards spiral.

Unlike the other reviewers - I liked this film. The artisitc approach - the acting - impressive. Missed the beginning of the movie - but watched most of it.
correction: still watching the movie...saw the scene where the aids patient was dying on his bed and edited my review - hard to understand what he was saying - boring long scene - review went from 7.5 to 6.0
Ok, one last review: end of the movie was great - surprised! now review goes to 7.0 - if that one long boring scene about adis was not in there would have been great movie - having 2 themes (aids & adultery) lessened my review - should have been just one theme

This was solidly intriguing and enjoyable for me right up to the final scene, then it took a dive in the crapper.
I could not disagree more with Traino's review. The depiction of the latter stages of AIDS was well done, and should be a lesson to all you boys and girls out there. The end of the movie was absolutely disappointing.
To elaborate, I must be a SPOILER: I saw this as a morality tale. Nice people running around doing some bad things. When everything came to a head at the wake, there should have been some sort of climax like a fight or some realization of guilt and shame. Instead, the "one night stand"s turn into the "next" spouse. The ending is presented as a happy one, and is only barely surprising. That the movie disappoints with a lack of clear morality is just a reflection of our culture which lacks all shame anyhow. So maybe this is a morality tale for an amoral culture.
